My Story
Dr Ekrah Ndungu is the National Chairperson of Kenya National Association of Private Colleges (KENAPCO) and also the CEO of the German Institute of Professional Studies, based in Nairobi, Kenya. She is also a career practitioner & an inspirational speaker.
Dr Ekrah is a certified Emotional Intelligence Coach with
Transformational Leadership Academy having trained around 700 hours on Emotional Intelligence the last 7 years and is a certified Life Coach with New Skills Academy USA, besides being a careers, confidence, and women empowerment Coach.
She is also a founder board member of Career guidance Institute, Founder Director of CEO Forum Kenya (an Association of Christian CEOs in Kenya).
In 2021, Dr Ekrah served as the Kenya Vice Chairperson of Global business roundtable and East Africa commissioner Chair & a supreme council of Africa member with the world Diplomatic
Federation.
Education
Dr Ekrah has a doctor of philosophy in Education Leadership, Transformational Leadership Executive MBA, Bachelor’s Degree in Entrepreneurship, Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management and a Diploma in Emotional Intelligence.
She is a fluent speaker of the German language, besides
English, Swahili and has many other qualifications. She is currently a Masters of Divinity student.
Awards
She has won many Accolades like Ambassadorial Code of Honor Award from UN world council through International College of Peace Studies USA,TVET Champion of the year (2025), Inspiring Public Speaker of the year (2025),Youth Laureat Award by United
Nations(2025), Education Excellency Award (2024), Education Advocacy Award for her advocacy work as Secretary General, Leader of the year Award in 2022 for her role as Secretary General, best female Public Speaker Award in 2023 & through her leadership German Institute of Professional Studies won TOPSCOREBRAND Award in 2021 and Brand of the Year in 2022 as the most preferred German Institute in Kenya, and through her leadership German Institute of Professional Studies has maintained TOPSCORE, DEPENDABLE & STARbrand status.
The Institute has also won East Africa PACESETTERS Award & Star Brands Award in 2023. In 2024, German Institute of professional Studies won the prestigious award from World school
summit in Dubai for contributing in international education. Dr Ekrah Ndungu in 2023 was crowned with ICONIC women Award in New Delhi India as a transformational leader in Africa for her work with youth and in the TVET sector.
In August 2023 she was voted in to become the National Chairperson of the Kenya National Association of Private Colleges (KENAPCO) the umbrella body for all private TVETs in Kenya & by God’s grace won the 4th Global change makers Award(2024) in Bangkok for her outstanding leadership as a change maker. In March 2024 got won Leadership Award from Masterminds Dubai and nominated in Kenya as the Education Advocate of the year in 2024 for her role as Chairperson KENAPCO.

Passion
Over the years(25years), she has mentored thousands of youths, her mentees being spread across the world with a majority living in Germany, Austria, Netherlands, UK, Dubai, South Africa, Ghana, America, Nigeria, her great country Kenya among other nations. She is deeply passionate about youth empowerment in Africa and has appeared in countless TV and Radio interviews across Africa sharing knowledge on matters concerning youth.
She has also spoken in numerous local and global platforms and plenaries, most notable among them being the United Nations,
World Education Summits, World Congress, the Global Business Roundtable on the Future of Education in Africa, Global Future Leaders summit in Swaziland, Youth Of Africa in Ghana, Africa youth summit in Rwanda, Youth in Africa summit in Durban South Africa, Global Women Summit in Lesotho & Pacesetters continental chapter in Dar es Salaam Tanzania among others.
Dr.Ekrah also serves as a board member; an advisor in many organizations & as a TVET Expert in her great country Kenya contributing to many policies & advocacy. In 2025 she was recognized as TVET Champion of the year in Kenya.
Hobbies
Dr. Ekrah is passionate about building confidence in others, helping people where she can, and developing people-skills daily, loves humor, loves mentoring she’s is also an avid reader & loves Golfing too.
